Background

East Anglian law firm Ellisons has promoted senior residential property lawyer Marion Knocker to partner as the firm continues to strengthen its presence across the region.

The promotion comes months after the firm opened its first office in Norwich during March, adding to its existing offices in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. The move reflects the company’s focus on expanding legal services across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

Ms Knocker joined Ellisons around 18 months ago and works within the residential property team. She has more than 20 years of experience in residential conveyancing and handles freehold and leasehold transactions, remortgages and new-build property purchases.

She said the firm’s strong local reputation and its approach towards client care attracted her to the company. She added that she had experienced a supportive working culture where colleagues focused on quality, integrity and consistent service.

According to her, becoming a partner would allow her to continue supporting clients and strengthen the firm’s local community connections.

Managing partner Guy Longhurst said Ms Knocker always puts clients first and focuses on giving clear and independent advice during property transactions. He added that she had made a positive contribution to the residential property team within a short period.

The firm said the appointment supports its long-term growth plans and strengthens its residential property practice across East Anglia.
