Background-

UK law firm Clarke Willmott has re-elected Peter Swinburn as chief executive for a second four-year term. The term runs from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2031.

Swinburn said he is “absolutely delighted” to continue in the role and will focus on the “opportunities that lie ahead.” The firm has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.

Chair Graham McIntyre said the re-election brings “continuity” as the firm works on its next three-year strategy. The plan aims to make Clarke Willmott a business with more than £100 million in revenue by the end of the 2030 financial year. McIntyre praised Swinburn for bringing enthusiasm and warmth to the job and said he will put his energy into reaching the firm’s growth goals.

Revenue has grown from around £60 million to an expected £72.5 million by the end of the current financial year during Swinburn’s first term.

Swinburn said he loves the firm and the job, and that the support means a great deal to him. He said he believes some of the firm’s biggest opportunities still lie ahead. His focus is to finish the current strategy strongly, turn the 2030 ambitions into reality and protect the culture and values of the firm.

Earlier this year, Clarke Willmott acquired a specialist legal practice, which it called a key strategic milestone. The deal created a dedicated UK immigration law team. Last year, the firm launched a Ukraine desk to support reconstruction efforts.
