Background
Southampton-headquartered law firm Clarke Willmott has acquired Latitude Law, a specialist business immigration practice with offices in Manchester, London and Brussels, for an undisclosed sum.
The firm, which already operates in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Cardiff and Taunton, described the deal as a key strategic milestone in its growth plans.
The acquisition brings a team of immigration specialists into Clarke Willmott and creates a new dedicated UK immigration law capability for the business. Latitude Law advises corporates, business owners and high-net-worth individuals on Home Office applications and compliance requirements, and holds rankings in the Legal 500, Lexology and Chambers and Partners UK.
Clarke Willmott chief executive Peter Swinburn welcomed the Latitude Law team, praising their strong market reputation for delivering excellent immigration advice to businesses and individuals. He said the acquisition reflects shared values around long-term client relationships and strengthens the firm’s ability to support clients in a growing area of law.
Gary McIndoe will lead the new immigration team from Clarke Willmott’s Manchester office, forming part of the commercial services division headed by partner Ed Foulkes. Full integration into the firm is expected to complete in early November.
McIndoe reflected on nearly two decades of building Latitude Law into a recognised specialist practice, expressing pride in his team and confidence that joining Clarke Willmott would strengthen client service.
Foulkes said the development marks an exciting moment for the Manchester office and reflects Clarke Willmott’s continued commitment to strategic growth.
