Background-

Commercial and property litigation specialist Adam Hollis has joined Chesterfield-based CMP Legal as Dispute Resolution Director, supporting the award-winning Legal 500 firm’s continued growth.

Hollis joins from Midlands law firm Elliott Mather, where he served as Partner and Head of Litigation across the firm’s Nottingham and Derby offices. Living in North Derbyshire with his young family, Hollis said the chance to join a progressive, ambitious firm in Chesterfield strongly appealed to him.

He described CMP Legal as underpinned by modern values and a strong client focus, calling it a dynamic environment for staff and clients alike that aligns with his own approach to litigation.

Hollis brings more than 15 years of experience handling complex disputes for businesses, agricultural clients and private individuals, with expertise spanning commercial litigation, residential and property litigation, professional negligence, partnership disputes and several specialised niche areas.

CMP Legal co-founder and solicitor Stacey Pocock welcomed Hollis to the firm, praising his clear, strategic approach to resolving disputes efficiently and cost effectively, and noting his arrival comes at an exciting time as the firm grows its services and strengthens its senior leadership team.

Agricultural litigation ranks among Hollis’s specialist areas, a field he believes CMP Legal is well positioned to serve given its location on the edge of the Peak District.

His expertise also extends to civil dog law, an increasingly active field alongside rising dog ownership and breeding activity. Hollis, whose family breeds and shows Bearded Collies, has advised on Kennel Club disciplinary and appeals tribunal disputes as well as ownership and breeder-related issues both in the UK and internationally.

Founded in 2021, CMP Legal has grown into one of the leading law firms in the area, securing a Legal 500 listing in the Corporate and Commercial Elsewhere in East Midlands category for the past two years.
