Background
Insulet has brought in Hristina Atanasova as senior manager and legal counsel for Spain, adding experienced legal leadership to its European operations.
In her new role, Atanasova will provide legal guidance to the company’s market access, marketing and sales teams. She will also support public procurement processes and help the business stay on the right side of regulations in a heavily regulated healthcare environment.
Based in Madrid, she will run Insulet’s legal advisory work in Spain while also contributing to projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Atanasova comes to Insulet from Johnson & Johnson MedTech, where she spent more than eight years working across legal and commercial matters tied to medical devices and digital health.
Before moving into in-house roles, she started her career in private legal practice, gradually building expertise in market access, public procurement, and the commercialisation of connected medical technologies.
Much of her work has been centred on businesses operating in regulated healthcare settings, with a particular focus on Spain, where she has dealt with the legal and operational side of bringing medical technology to market.
She holds a law degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a master’s degree in legal practice from UNED.
The appointment is part of Insulet’s wider effort to build stronger legal and regulatory teams in key markets as it grows its healthcare technology business internationally.
