Lanarkshire-based law firm Ness Gallagher Solicitors has announced a significant expansion with the opening of a new office in Lanark, alongside the appointment of solicitor Ailie Lothian to lead the branch.

Ms Lothian is returning to Ness Gallagher after eight years at Smail & Ewart. She has extensive experience in family law, property matters, wills and powers of attorney, guardianships, compromise agreements, and other civil legal work. In addition to her legal practice, she is an accredited family law mediator, a member of the Family Law Association, and currently serves as dean of the Lanark Faculty of Procurators.

This marks a homecoming for Ms Lothian, who began her legal career at Ness Gallagher in 2003 and spent 13 formative years with the firm. Her return reflects a strong alignment with the firm’s vision and commitment to providing accessible, high-quality legal services in the region.

Ms Lothian said she is very excited to return to Ness Gallagher, the firm where she began her legal career and developed her early experience. “Opening a base in Lanark presents a fantastic opportunity to expand the firm’s presence and continue serving the local community with professional, trusted legal advice.”
