Background
National law firm Clarke Willmott has been appointed to the Crescent Purchasing Consortium’s legal services framework, and is increasing its work in the education and public sector. The appointment positions the firm to deliver legal support to a broad range of educational bodies across the country, from schools and colleges to universities and other institutions.
The Crescent Purchasing Consortium is widely recognized in the education sector for providing purchasing frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems, and procurement consultancy services to a broad range of institutions. Clarke Willmott was ranked fifth among 14 law firms selected for the framework following a competitive tender process.
The successful bid was led by commercial and private client litigation partner Tim Williamson, with support from the firm’s bids and tenders team as well as colleagues from multiple offices and practice areas nationwide.
The appointment follows the firm’s inclusion last year in the £45 million London Universities Purchasing Consortium Legal Services Framework, further strengthening its position in the education legal market.
Williamson said the appointment reflects the strength and breadth of the firm’s education practice and underlines its continued focus on delivering strategic legal advice to the education and public sectors. He added that the firm would support consortium members on matters including commercial property, planning, employment, regulatory issues, criminal law, and litigation support.
The latest mandate is expected to help Clarke Willmott deepen relationships with education clients and reinforce its reputation as a key legal adviser in the sector.
