BARBRI has acquired Lega, a legal technology education platform. The platform focuses on helping lawyers and law students build practical skills for using new technology tools in their work. The deal will expand BARBRI’s training services as law firms and legal professionals adapt to the growing use of AI.
Lega was founded in 2023 and provides hands-on programmes where participants learn by testing AI tools, creating applications and working on practical legal tasks. The platform has worked with major law firms, legal conferences and innovation programmes.
The acquisition will allow BARBRI to combine Lega’s practical training approach with its existing legal education programmes. BARBRI plans to offer more workshops, simulations, hackathons and lab-based courses that help participants understand how AI can be applied to real legal work.
The companies also aim to bring law students and practising lawyers together to work on common legal problems. This is expected to create a closer connection between legal education and workplace requirements.
