Key Background:

Larcomes Solicitors, based in Portsmouth, has extended its area of influence in Hampshire and the South of England by merging its practice with The Children’s Legal Practice, another long-established and highly respected family law practice founded by Kirti Patel in 2004.

The acquisition brings additional experience in sensitive areas such as care proceedings and child arrangements disputes, areas where The Children’s Legal Practice has built a strong reputation over the past two decades.

Under the deal, Patel and her support team will become part of Larcomes. Expressing her views on the development, Patel said, “After many rewarding years of supporting families through the Children’s Legal Practice, I felt this was the right time to take our services to the next level. Larcomes’ values, particularly its focus on client care and commitment to the community, align perfectly with our own, and we are excited to move forward together.”

Richard Hopgood, who leads Larcomes as managing director, said he was pleased about the partnership with Kirti and her staff. Their knowledge and experience complement our existing strengths in family law and will allow us to continue building on our reputation for delivering high-quality legal advice.

The expansion further solidifies Larcom’s presence across the southeast. With offices in Portsmouth, Waterlooville, and Fareham, the firm is well-placed to assist clients not only in Hampshire but also in nearby areas such as West Sussex, Dorset, and the Isle of Wight. Through the collection, Larcomes expects to extend its coverage and become more competent in advising clients on the aspects of family law that are hard to traverse.

Founded more than 100 years ago, Larcomes has built its reputation on providing expert legal services to individuals, families, and businesses. This is the most recent move with regard to the long-term growth plan that the company has and its desire to give back to communities by offering them expert legal services.
