Background:

A UK-based business law firm has launched a low-cost contract review service to make legal support more affordable for small and medium-sized businesses. Contracts can now be reviewed for as little as £17.50, reducing the cost of legal advice.

The service, introduced by 360 Business Law, uses an in-house AI system called AiLa to analyse contracts and flag potential risks. Users receive a red, amber and green (RAG) report that highlights areas of concern, unusual clauses and deviations from standard legal practice, based on playbooks developed by the firm’s lawyers.

Initially, the platform supports common business documents such as sales and purchase agreements, supplier contracts and non-disclosure agreements. The firm plans to expand the service to cover additional documents, including employment contracts, and later introduce tools that can generate contracts from scratch.

Clients needing more detail can use a Word plug-in that explains issues clearly and suggests better clauses. If they need extra help, they can request a fixed-fee review from a lawyer and choose the level of support they want.

Pricing has been structured to appeal to cost-conscious SMEs. Simple contracts are reviewed for £17.50 plus VAT, while more complex agreements cost £87.50. Credit bundles are also available, starting at £165 for 10 reviews. The Word plug-in is priced at £15 per month or £150 annually.

The launch builds on technology that 360 Law Group has already used with enterprise clients after integrating contract review software from legal AI specialist Lexical Labs into its internal systems. The group says it applies only a small markup to its AI services, positioning itself as a challenger to traditional law firm pricing models.

Founder and general counsel Robert Taylor said the system has proven reliable in large-scale use and that confidence in its output has grown over time. He noted that while many SMEs already rely on general AI tools to review contracts, dedicated legal AI guided by professional playbooks delivers more practical, lawyer-like analysis.

The firm says the initiative supports its wider goal of making high-quality legal services more accessible by reducing overheads while maintaining professional standards.
