Background:

Qanooni, a legal platform in Microsoft 365, has partnered with Actionstep, a cloud-based software for midsize law firms. This partnership will bring law firm operations and legal work together in one system.

Actionstep helps law firms manage clients, cases, billing, and rules. Qanooni helps lawyers do legal work, writing, reviewing, and researching, directly in Word and Outlook, following the firm’s style. The integration combines both systems, so lawyers can work efficiently without switching between tools.

Through secure document management integration, Qanooni AI allows firms to maintain institutional knowledge and writing style. Actionstep provides operational context such as client information, matter stage, deadlines, and billing structures, which Qanooni AI uses to generate tailored outputs that follow firm-specific playbooks and procedures. The result is a single workspace where firm management and legal work complement each other.

Ziyaad Ahmed, Co-Founder of Qanooni AI, said, “Actionstep provides one of the most complete platforms for running a modern law firm. Qanooni enhances this by powering the work of law, while preserving each firm’s distinct voice. This integration ensures efficiency without compromising uniqueness.”

Rob Lawson, Head of Sales and Partnerships at Qanooni AI, added, “This partnership allows firms to move smoothly from managing matters to executing legal work. Actionstep feeds live operational context to Qanooni, ensuring all outputs reflect how each firm serves its clients.”

The integration is expected to be available to law firms from early 2026 and is designed to reduce repetitive data entry, maintain consistency, and provide a full audit trail of AI-assisted work within the firm’s system.
