Background:

Ogier is Jersey’s first Fertility Friendly Workplace certified by Tiny Seeds. The award shows the firm’s commitment to helping employees who face fertility challenges.

The certification highlights Ogier’s efforts to support staff going through fertility treatment. The firm offers paid leave for all employees: eight days for those having treatment and five days for people supporting someone, like a partner or surrogate.

Ogier also allows flexible working to help staff manage treatment schedules. The firm supports open talks about fertility, giving employees a safe space for help.

Sophie Halsey, Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Adviser at Ogier, said: “At Ogier, we recognise that fertility struggles can affect every aspect of life. Navigating treatment alongside work can bring extra pressure and uncertainty. We are committed to offering the flexibility and support our people deserve during this time and are proud to be recognised as a Tiny Seeds-certified Fertility Friendly Workplace.”

Tiny Seeds founder Chloe Fosse welcomed the move, adding that fertility challenges can be emotionally, physically, and financially demanding. She said many employees feel unable to discuss these issues at work, and Ogier’s policies show a genuine effort to change that. “Our Fertility Friendly Workplace Toolkit provides guidance and practical resources for employers to support their teams with empathy and understanding,” Fosse said.

The award shows that employee well-being is becoming more important in professional services. Ogier’s approach could inspire other law firms in Jersey and beyond, proving that workplaces can perform well while supporting their staff.
