Paramount Skydance Corporation (NASDAQ: PSKY), a major media company with annual revenue of $28.76 billion, has appointed Makan Delrahim as its new Chief Legal Officer, starting October 6. Delrahim used to lead the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and has strong legal and regulatory experience.

Before joining Paramount, Delrahim was a partner at Latham & Watkins LLP, helping clients with deals, legal issues, and compliance. He also helped Skydance Media during its acquisition of Paramount. In his new role, Delrahim will oversee all legal, regulatory, compliance, and public policy matters, including the company’s Government Relations team.

David Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Paramount, praised Delrahim, stating, “Makan brings a strategic mindset and a strong track record of navigating complex, cross-sector challenges.” Delrahim expressed enthusiasm about joining Paramount during a transformative time for the media industry.

Delrahim’s government experience is extensive, having led merger reviews at the DOJ and reorganized the Antitrust Division to create specialized sections for media, entertainment, and financial services. He has also served in the White House, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Meanwhile, Paramount Skydance is reportedly preparing a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, with potential offers ranging between $22 and $24 per share. Though the offer remains speculative, it has already influenced market activity: Paramount Skydance shares rose about 7%, while Warner Bros. Discovery saw an increase of over 25%.

The company has also boosted its leadership team by appointing Dennis K. Cinelli, CFO of Scale, as an independent board director, and Dane Glasgow, former Meta executive, as Chief Product Officer. Analysts at Benchmark have kept a Buy rating on Paramount Skydance, showing strong investor confidence.
