Background:
Ison Harrison, a Yorkshire law firm, has opened a new office in Middlesbrough, its 24th branch. The office will take on cases in inquests, personal injury, and civil rights.
Sarah Magson, an experienced lawyer in these areas, will lead the Middlesbrough office. Sarah joins Ison Harrison from Watson Woodhouse Solicitors and has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year at the Northern Law Awards 2024 and Inspirational Female Business Leader at the National Business Hero Awards 2024.
Sarah said she is excited to start at Ison Harrison and lead the Middlesbrough office. She added that the firm’s focus on clients matches her own values, and she looks forward to helping people in the local community with skill and care.
Sarah will be joined by a team of experienced lawyers, including Dawn Makepeace, Alistair Smith, Sophie Kendall, and Sarah Finney, with Paul Henderson set to join in January. Together, they form one of the North’s most specialist teams in complex legal matters, ranging from inquests to human rights claims.
Conveniently located opposite Middlesbrough Law Courts, the new office contributes to a natural legal hub alongside other firms and barristers’ chambers. Gareth Naylor, director and head of personal injury and inquests at Ison Harrison, said that opening the Middlesbrough office shows the firm’s focus on expert legal services, helping people get justice, and supporting local communities in the North.
The opening follows a period of rapid growth for Ison Harrison since becoming a 100% employee-owned business in 2022. The firm now employs over 400 staff across Yorkshire, holds 13 Law Society accreditations, and continues to provide a broad range of legal services to clients across the region.
