Key Background :
During the 2025 Google I/O conference, the giant tech company introduced Veo 3, its latest and most powerful AI video generator yet. With the ability to create 1080p and even 4K-resolution videos from text or image inputs, Veo 3 is a huge leap in AI-powered creativity. For the first time, Veo 3 now also supports audio—in addition to sound effects, ambient music, and speech—making it a more versatile solution for marketers, content creators, and educators.
The extensive rollout includes 71 nations like Pakistan, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Australia, and South Africa. The rollout is a part of Google’s initiative to democratize access to its next-gen generative capabilities. Veo 3 is now available on the Gemini AI platform (app and web) for Pro and Premium users.
But the launch glaringly omits India, the European Union, and the UK. Although no official reason has been given, it’s probably due to regulatory and data compliance issues for these countries. In spite of this, Josh Woodward, VP of Google Labs and Gemini, has assured users that Veo will be launched in India soon, although no timeline has been announced.
Veo 3 has received praise for its ability to interpret complex instructions and generate diverse video outputs—from cinematic storytelling to educational visualizations. Its integration of audio with video sets it apart from many competitors in the AI video space, including OpenAI’s Sora.
With content creation needs intensifying, Veo 3′s global roll-out is set to spur digital creators, educators, and businesses in search of scalable, innovative content solutions. While Indian users hold their breath for availability, industry observers foresee robust uptake considering the nation’s huge creator economy and tech-friendly population.
When it does come, Veo 3 stands to revolutionize the way Indian creators create high-quality visual content, by bringing down production time and costs substantially while presenting new avenues for creativity.
