Background
Edinburgh law firm Ralph Sayer has been working with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home (EDCH) for a year to help raise money and support animals.
The family-run firm is using its legal services to help pets, making it easy for clients to contribute.
The second campaign, Stamp of Approval, Paw of Support, offers clients free notary and document services if they make a donation to EDCH. Suggested contributions are £50 for standard notarisation and £20 for simpler certifications, with every pound raised going directly to the charity.
Kimberley Mackay, Partner at Ralph Sayer, said that EDCH has cared for abandoned and surrendered animals for more than 140 years. She added that many pets are left without help when their owners pass away, and EDCH makes sure they are looked after. She said the firm is excited to support the charity through its projects this year.
Ralph Sayer has put together an online checklist for Pack & Give Back to show clients which items the shelter can use the most.
In 2024, EDCH celebrated its 140th anniversary. In the past year, the charity found new homes for 228 pets, brought 103 animals back to their owners, and gave more than 42,000 pets a week’s supply of food through its community food banks.
In addition to the campaigns, Ralph Sayer will encourage ongoing donations to EDCH’s pet food bank, helping pets both in the shelter and in the community whose owners face financial challenges. People can donate using EDCH’s special Amazon Wish List or through Ralph Sayer’s fundraising page.
Ralph Sayer, in Edinburgh since 2022, offers legal and estate services across Scotland and also helps the local community.
