Background

A new round of senior appointments has been made at Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP as the long-established Hull law firm prepares for the retirement of one of its long-serving partners after nearly four decades.

The firm, headquartered on Castle Street in Hull and with additional offices in York, Scarborough, and Grimsby, has strengthened its commercial litigation and dispute resolution team with three new partner appointments. Rob Ripley, Caroline Hardcastle, and Sarah Thomsen have joined the partnership, bringing additional experience across a range of specialist areas.

According to the firm, the new partners bring experience in commercial and shareholder disputes, as well as in intellectual property, construction, and property-related cases. They also have experience handling professional negligence claims and contentious probate cases.

The additions to the team will help the firm better assist businesses and individuals with complex legal issues.

At the same time, the firm is working to build its future workforce alongside the senior hires. A solicitor specializing in contentious probate has recently joined the team, while several paralegals are being supported through training programs designed to help them qualify as solicitors.

Nick Dean, partner and head of the litigation and dispute resolution team since 2024, said the firm has developed a collaborative team with a wide range of complementary expertise. He noted that expanding the team will help ensure clients continue to receive clear and practical legal advice.

The appointments reflect the firm’s plans to strengthen its regional base while expanding its reach across the UK.
